Who Are We
We are Thomas and Kwinten, 2 brothers from Belgium and Lillian from Rwanda.
For Thomas and Kwinten it all started in the year 2016, with their first trip to Rwanda and Uganda to visit family with Rwandese roots.
Even though they already traveled quite a lot around the world, this trip was different. The beauty of these countries and its people, and the fact that you can travel around completely safe, really overwhelmed them.
It was unique. It was magical.
They immediately decided to book a new trip to Rwanda and Uganda the next year, and it was during this second trip that that their mission became clear. They want everyone in the world to see the beauty of these countries.
Or at least make sure that people are aware that this are hidden gems that are worth discovering.
When they came back to Belgium, they founded the travel agency AfriGuideMe, and actively started to promote and organize trips to Rwanda and Uganda.
One of the trips they organized was a group tour in the year 2018 for friends and family in which they participated ourselves. They were mainly guided by Lillian, and were blown away by her professional approach, reliability, and enthusiasm. It also became clear that we shared the same values in the way we want to organize travel. Not in a superficial way, but in a way that you really get to know the countries and the people. And all this in a sustainable way with a lot of respect for the local people and communities.
Together we founded Responsibility Travel Africa.
