3 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

The purpose of this 3 days magical excursion is to encounter wild mountain gorillas, one of the most endangered primate species on the planet in their natural habitat. Visit the original dweller of the rainforest and see how they have lived and hunted for millennia.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
At 9 am, you will be picked by your professional driver guide and transfer Uganda with a stopover to the board for migration formalities, later Proceed to the jungle for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Today, after breakfast, with your packed lunches you will drive to the park headquarters where park officials will brief you about gorilla trek rules and regulations. Next, you will be grouped into 8 individuals, be allocated a gorilla family to trek then head to the forest accompanied by guides and rangers as you begin you search for gorillas.
Once we find the Mountain Gorillas, we spend 1 hour watching them feed, groom and interact with each other. From here, meet your guide and drive back to the lodge for overnight.
What to wear and carry:
- Wear long trousers, long sleeve and hiking waterproof boats (to minimize the impact on wildlife, it is recommended to wear shades of green or brown). Carry gloves, a rain jacket, and a camera.
- Minimum age for mountain gorilla trekking is 15
Day 3: Batwa Cultural Experience and Transfer to Kigali
The Batwa were the original dwellers of the ancient forest and were known as the ‘keepers of the forest’. Enjoy your breakfast before an incredible hike in the rain forest with Batwa guides.
Step back in time to see how the Batwa lived and hunted for millennia in the Bwindi. Learn about medicinal plants, listen to ancient legends and traditional songs, watch energetic dances, and join in on a hunting party. Later after lunch, you will drive back to Kigali
