Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival you will be escorted from the Kigali International Airport to your hotel
Day 2: History and Heritage
The next morning you will enjoy many sights and vistas on an exquisite overland travel route to the Southern province. Enroute King’s Palace Museum for a detailed look into the Rwandan monarchical system and its abolition in early 1960s due to colonialism followed by a visit to Murambi Genocide memorial; a unique amongst all the various genocide memorial sites where, after the genocide, the corpses of some of those murdered were preserved and displayed, rather than being reburied. Overnight stay in Rusizi
Day 3: Local Market and Night Fishing
Learn some Kinyarwanda words and get involved into the game of bargaining and trying to a win an item or food stuff at a local market. At sunset, join the singing fishing crew for night fishing on Lake Kivu. Watch and take part in the traditional ways of fishing and explore the livelihood of the fishermen as well. Overnight in Rusizi
Day 4 - 5: Exotic Touch
Journey by boat to Rwanda’s hidden treasures deep in the Lake Kivu home to nearly 20,000 inhabitants with their own culture, language and ways of living. Trees and banana plantations surround the Island making it an untold image of a ‘green hill. No single vehicle or motorcycle operates at the Island. Through the next days, you can pick up activities of your choice to do in the village such as basket weaving with local women, a walk on the island, visiting a local school, and spending time with kids. After spending immersive two day in the village, say goodbye to the village the next morning. Overnight stay on Sacred Island
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trek
Trek in one of the world’s most beautiful and pristine mountain rainforests and spend the morning among the chimpanzees that live in the forest trees. The chimpanzees are surreally human in appearance and behavior, and a whole family troop will be just a few meters away from you. Overnight stay at the lodge

Day 7: Waterfalls and Tea Picking
Lace up your hiking shoes and head out early to hike a moderate uphill 3-5 hours through virgin forest until we reach a breathtakingly beautiful waterfall. Participate in a unique, hands-on tea picking experience. The fertile volcanic soil and temperate climate make for perfect tea growing conditions. Overnight stay at the lodge
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali
After an enriching experience, travel to Kigali and fly back home.
