Trip overview

You will hear them long before you see them!  Trek the chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. Continue Bwindi National Park for a lifetime experience of seeing the mountain gorillas up-close in their natural habitat not to mention the striking Golden Monkeys. Hike to up to Mount Sabyinyo summit and soak up sublime vistas you will ever have. Round it off with village walk in Bunyonyi and learn about their traditional way of living, cultural beliefs, history and mythical stories that have been told from generation to generation.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by Responsible Travel Africa representative and transferred to the hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival, you will go for a short City tour. You will visit Kabaka’s Palace at Bulange Mengo and Former Amin torture chambers, Uganda Museum, Namugongo Martyr’s Shrine and the Baha’i Temple.

Day 2: Drive To Kibale And Bigodi Swamp

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park one of the best places for bird-watching and chimpanzee viewing in Uganda. The drive takes you past tea plantations, through rolling hills, open savannahs and colorful villages. Arrive in time for lunch and later go for an evening walk around Bigodi Swamp. This swamp is unique in that it sits right at the junction of central African rainforests and the East African Rift Valley.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking And Night Walk

After breakfast, you will drive to the park for a briefing with park rangers. From Kanyanchu at 08:00 head out in the forest in search of the chimpanzees. You will hear them long before you see them as they whoop and holler high up in the dense forest canopies. you have an hour, watching but also listening and smelling and delighting in the movements of the chimpanzees. Return to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park. Overnight stay at the lodge

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Today, after breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters where park officials will brief you about gorilla trek rules and regulations.  Next, you will be grouped into 8 individuals, be allocated a gorilla family to trek then head to the forest accompanied by guides and rangers as you begin you search for gorillas. Once we find the Mountain Gorillas, we spend 1 hour watching them feed, groom and interact with each other. From here, meet your guide and drive back to the lodge for overnight

Day 5: Mount Sabyinyo Hike

This morning after breakfast, with packed lunch, you’ll be driven to the park reception for a briefing. After completing the briefing, begin your beautiful trek. You’ll start by passing through a flat area with several swamps to up a ridge along the eastern side to the first peak.  Continue to the second peak which involves walking on ridge with breathtaking drops into the gorge of Rwanda and Uganda. Climb several ladders to finally reach the third peak. At the summit, you’ll be in Uganda, Rwanda and D.R Congo at the same time while having some of the best views you will ever have. From the summit you can see the beautiful Lake Kivu in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lake Bunyonyi and the Rwenzori ranges of mountains in Uganda, over six mountains of the Virunga region and countless other features. You will descend and drive to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking And Lake Bunyonyi

Hike through the forests to sight of the striking creatures, high in the dense bamboo forests on the Gahinga trail. When you encounter the golden monkey family, you’ll spend one hour with them observing their behavior and taking photographs. Drive back to the lodge for lunch before heading to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat ride. You’ll have to help paddle, and you’ll learn a bit more about the lake and its islands from your captain. Day 7: Local Market And Village Walk

After breakfast, Trek along the terraces, banana plantations and lush green vegetation for a stunning view of the 29 islands. Walk around the communities and learn about their traditional way of living, cultural beliefs, history and mythical stories that have been told from generation to generation. Continue to the local market, so vibrant, colorful and filled with exotic smell. you will find anything you can think of ranging from African crafts, vegetables, shoes, clothes, and electronics.

Day 8: Kampala Nightlife

After breakfast, drive back to kampala en-route lunch. Check-in at the hotel, refresh and head out to experience the city that doesn’t sleep. visit several Clubs that have different ambiances and you will definitely have a great chance of dancing, having fun and be singing the night away. Back to your hotel at whichever time you desire.

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the lodge for your transfer back to Entebbe international airport for you flight.
